Be Prepared: 6 Tips for Camping in the Spring
"Visited for a group camp out. Staff was kind and accommodating. Campground was well kept and clean, especially the bathrooms. A selection of campsites have power and water, but most of the campground is dry. The corner sites had the most room, not all of the sites would support a travel trailer. Less than 10 minutes from Kernville, this was an epic and serene location with river access. Coin operated hot showers available, a nice camp store and friendly people. I look forward to returning in the summer..."

Thank you for being a Camper who Cares!
Planning for success in the outdoors includes:
Packing trash bags so that your group can leave our park and other wild spaces cleaner than you found them. Place trash in trash bins and make sure lid is closed securely.
Use refillable water bottles with wide mouths.
Bring a 5-gallon jug of water to use for drinking, refilling and dish washing. Create less trash!
Always use restroom facilities if available. If not, dig a hole at least 100' away from rivers, creeks or streams, and completely bury your poop. Stack rocks on top to keep animals from digging it up!
Use dish wash stations if available. Strain out pieces of food and place in trash bag. Be courteous and leave dish wash station clean for the next camping guest.
Courteous campers respect their neighbors by speaking softly especially during quiet hours, dimming lights, and not using amplified sound or creating loud noises that may disturb someone else's peaceful, outdoor experience.
Always practice Leave No Trace (en Español) principles and pack out what you pack in. Read our park's Kern River camping etiquette tips and policies, before you visit.
