To help ensure a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience for you and all our camping guests, we’ve put together a few simple camping guidelines that keep the campground family-friendly, peaceful, and fun for everyone.

-
Clean Sites: Campers maintain a clean, trash-free, glass-free site at all times. Contain trash in your own bags and haul all trash to central trash trailer. Campers use blue recycle bins for CRV items. Messy sites will be charged a one night site fee to credit card on file as per Cancellation Policy. Ask Camp Host for a site walk-through @ check out.

-
Pets: Our pet-friendly park allows one large breed per campsite or two small dogs; leashed (6' maximum leash length please); droppings are picked up quickly; pets are always attended; pets are not allowed to poo on grass. Unsocialized, aggressive or noisy pets will be asked to find accommodations elsewhere. All pets must be registered at Camp Office for a $10/day/pet fee.

-
Speed limit: 5 mph speed limit is respected by all drivers on KRE property to retain on-site driving privileges. Please do not dust your neighbors!

-
Vehicle Maximums: A maximum of two vehicles (RV's, trailers count) are parked at each camp site. Vehicles are well inside of site, not encroaching into roadway. Extra vehicles are parked in Guest Parking lot or pay a $25/day parking fee charged to site credit card on file. Boulder Beach and High Tower group sites can park up to four vehicles.

-
Quiet Time: Quiet time is observed promptly and respectfully followed by 10:00 p.m. Generators stay off between 10:00pm and 7:00am. Music is turned off. Lights are dimmed to better observe our beautiful dark skies. Look up!

-
Check-in time: Between 2pm and 9pm. Campers who arrive to camp after 9:00pm will dim lights, and observe quiet hours noted above. Early arrivals result in extra fee of up to one full night’s camping, charged on your credit card on file. Check out by noon, or pre-approved late check-out; non-compliance will result in a $20/hour fee charged to credit card on file.

-
Campfires & Tables: All sites have a campfire ring with metal grate. We allow campfires. We are a privately owned campground and keep well delineated fire clearances. Propane BBQ or camp stoves are allowed. Campfire rings remain where found. Tables are located strategically; if you move them, kindly return the table.
-

-
Firewood: Firewood is locally sourced and bulk deliveries are arranged with KRE only. We offer locally sourced firewood from a trusted source to prevent spread of disease to KRE trees. Camp Host sells firewood at his site. Groups please call to arrange for bulk firewood purchase.

-
Supervision of Minors: Children are chaperoned at all times in campground, especially near the river and in restrooms.

-
Restrooms: Campers use restroom facilities with cleanliness and care, and notify host if additional supplies or care are needed.

-
Borrow Games: Campers check in with Camp Host with a valid ID to checkout horseshoes, shuffleboard, volleyball, corn hole, etc.

-
Stay on camp trails: Cutting through someone's campsite is impolite. Camp within delineated site boundary; observe private property borders. Access river and other amenities by using park trails. If unclear, ask Camp Host.

-
Swimming: The Kern River is dangerous and swimming is not recommended. Ask Camp Host about possible wading areas.

-
OHV/ATV: Ask Camp Host for directions to local ATV, off highway vehicle riding locations. ATV’s are not ridden on KRE property.

-
Firearms: Ask Host for legal areas to discharge firearms. Contact the Kern River Valley Gun Association. Fireworks are illegal in the Sequoia National Forest.

-
Emergency: Call 9-1-1. If you observe unlawful/dangerous activity in KRE campground, notify Host or call 9-1-1.

-
Use of Camp: Please report inappropriate use of camp equipment to our Camp Host immediately. If Camp Host is not available, please call (760) 376-6553. Destruction of KRE Campground property will result in a fine/prosecution.

-
Camping Rights: KRE reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. Camping rights can be terminated without refund. Non-compliance of policies will result in forfeiture of site without refund.

-
Site Capacity: Maximum of four people in Lofty Oak; 6 people in Standard sites; 12 people in Double Sites; 24 people in Boulder Beach. Children and day visitors are included in maximums. Extra campers not allowed on holiday weekends.

-
Venues: Bull Run Pavilion and Bud’s Grove can be rented out for private parties and may not always be accessible to camping guests. If it is not reserved, all camping guests respectfully and considerately share these day use areas.

-
Water: Campers use water conservatively. Turn off the tap, take quick showers. Water balloons create trash and waste water so they are not allowed @ KRE Campground.

-
Weather: Inclement weather is beyond our control. All reservation commitments are upheld regardless of weather.

-
Glass-Free: Campers use cans/boxes/plastic bottles or re-package food/toiletries to create a glass-free campground.
-

-
Leave No Trace: Practice Leave No Trace policies each time you recreate outdoors.
