Catch and Release?

Or, catch and skewer, over your campfire, wrapped in bacon? Maybe you prefer a foil method with lemon, capers and garlic? Nom! Either way, fresh trout is healthy, delicious and best served around your campfire. There is nothing better than truly unplugging and getting away from it all in the outdoors. Be sure to reserve your campsite early, dates are filling up really fast at Mountain & River Adventures Campground (MRAC) on the upper Kern River. Come to the Kern, the fish are biting!

Kern River Fishing Resources:

  • We've spotted local fly fishing guides casting from our shoreline, so we know the action is great right now on the Upper Kern @ MRAC!

  • Check out the Kern River fishing report from the local fly fishing shop.

  • Warmer and longer days are good news for fly fishing, especially mid-day. Be sure to stop in to the local Fly fishing Shop for all the details.

Lake Isabella Fishing Resources:

  • Read the Lake Isabella weekly fishing report in our local newspaper, the Kern Valley Sun, before you come.
