Looking for a reason to visit Kernville this fall? Come camp with us and experience the community events, local artists, music, markets, rodeos, and small-town fun that make the Kern River Valley such a special place to visit.

Fall is one of our favorite times of year in Kernville. The weather begins to cool, the pace slows down, and the community calendar fills up with events that bring locals and visitors together.

From handmade treasures and farmers market goodies to barrel racing and live rock and blues, there's a little something for everyone.

And when the event is over, you don't have to drive home. Set up camp at Kern River's Edge and make a whole weekend of it. 🏕️

🎨 KRVAA's Bi-Annual Arts & Crafts Festival

September 5–6, 2026 | Circle Park

Kick off your fall Kernville getaway with a little creativity!

The KRVAA's Bi-Annual Arts & Crafts Festival showcases local arts, crafts, and handmade goods from talented regional creators.

Spend the day wandering through the booths, discovering something unique, meeting local artists, and supporting small businesses and makers.

It's the perfect kind of event for a leisurely Saturday or Sunday in Kernville. Grab a coffee, browse the handmade goods, enjoy the mountain-town atmosphere, and take home a little piece of Kernville with you.

Then head back to camp and relax along the Kern River.

🧺 Kernville Summer Festival

September 12, 2026 | 9 AM–3 PM | Circle Park

Despite the name, the Kernville Summer Festival is a great way to welcome the changing season.

This family-friendly community event brings together farmers market goods, local honey, arts and crafts, food vendors, and live music at Circle Park.

It's a chance to shop local, grab something delicious, listen to some music, and enjoy an easygoing day in town.

Bring the family, bring your appetite, and leave a little room in the car for everything you're going to find at the market. 😉

And because you're camping nearby, you can enjoy the festival without worrying about making the drive home afterward.

🐎 Kernville Summer Nights Barrel Racing

September 19, 2026 | 6:30 PM | John E. McNally Arena

Want to experience a little bit of the West?

Head over to the Kernville Summer Nights Barrel Racing on September 19.

This free, family-friendly event features timed barrel racing on a dirt track, with concessions available during the evening.

There's something pretty fun about watching horses race around the barrels while the sun goes down over the mountains.

Come watch the action, grab some food, cheer on the riders, and then head back to your campsite for a peaceful night by the river.

🎸 Kern River Rock N Blues Festival

September 24–27, 2026 | Multiple Kernville Venues

If live music is more your speed, mark this one on your calendar.

The Kern River Rock N Blues Festival takes over Kernville September 24–27, bringing multiple bands to stages and venues throughout town.

The festival kicks off Thursday, with the main events running Friday through Sunday.

With music happening at different locations around Kernville, it's a great opportunity to explore town while enjoying some seriously good tunes.

Come for the music. Stay for the weekend. Camp with us and make Kernville your home base while you enjoy the festival.

🛍️ Shop Small. Eat Local. Explore Kernville.

Community events are only part of what makes a fall visit to Kernville special.

Between events, take some time to explore the town. Browse local shops. Stop at a local restaurant. Pick up something handmade. Grab a treat. Talk to the people who call the Kern River Valley home.

One of the best things about a small mountain town is that you don't have to rush.

Take your time.

Wander.

Discover.

Support local.

And maybe find something you didn't know you were looking for.
