Welcome to Kern River's Edge Campground Retreat
Welcome to Kern River's Edge Campground Retreat

Summer is here. Have you scheduled your next outdoor getaway? Whether it's an extended mid-week camp out or a long weekend, we have the perfect camp site for you. Weekends and holidays fill up the quickest so plan ahead. From power & water hook-ups to tent camp sites, we've got you covered. Book very soon!

For 4th of July weekend we have one RV site and a few tent sites left.

For Labor Day weekend, we have two tent sites left.

Holiday weekends are a very busy time here on the Kern. We recommend mid-week camping if you are able to getaway during the week!

Where to view Fireworks?

The Lake Isabella fireworks show is launched from Engineers Point which is at the southwest end of the lake. You can view the fireworks well, but from a distance here:

  • On the Sierra Way road turnout south of Camp 9.

  • Drive into Camp 9 towards end of road.

Some visitors like to float in Lake Isabella on boats to watch the fireworks. Others like to get up high on a hillside to watch from above.

Make your Kern visit a little cooler this July!

During your visit to the Kern, be sure to make time to visit the Trail of 100 Giants!

It's a scenic, mountain drive. As you ascend up the mountain watch for subtle changes in the vegetation, the air starts to cool, and the water features can pop up unexpectedly.

Pack a picnic lunch and blanket, be sure you have a full tank of gas and plenty of water, food or snacks!

Care-for-It

Thank you for camping responsibly by packing trash bags to leave our wild spaces cleaner than you found them. There is a glass ban in the Sequoia National Forest, so remember to use plastic storage containers, ziploc bags, or bota bags for camping gear and kitchen supplies instead of glass.

Micro-trash and cigarette butts are trash. Thank you for caring and picking up micro-trash and cigarette butts to leave our outdoor spaces better than you found them.
